Comparison of Adverbs

       COMPARISION OF ADVERBS :--
      ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
   Adverbs, like Adjectives, have three degrees of comparision; as,
   (1) Positive Degree
   (2) Comparative Degree
   (3) Superlative Degree
    Note :--
     * Adverbs are generally compared like Adjectives.
       e.g. :--
     * Ram works hard.                        (Positive)
     * Arjun works harder than Ram.     (Comparative)
     * Hari works hardest of all.          (Superlative)
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
     RULES FOR COMPARISION OF ADVERBS :--
     ===================================
1. If the adverb is of one syllable,we form the Comparative by adding '-er', and the Superlative by adding '-est', to the Positive; as,
         POSITIVE           COMPARATIVE           SUPERLATIVE
         --------                    -----------                   -----------
          Fast                         faster                       fastest
          Hard                        harder                      hardest
          Soon                       sooner                      soonest
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
2. Adverbs ending in 'ly', form the Comparative by using 'more', and the Superlative by using '-most' before the Positive.
          POSITIVE           COMPARATIVE          SUPERLATIVE
          --------                     -----------                    ------------
           Swiftly                   more swiftly                 most swiftly
           Skilfully                 more skilfully                most skilfully
   Note :--
     * But note the case of 'early'; as,
           Early                         earlier                        earliest
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
3. *  It will be noticed that only Adverbs of Manner, Degree, and Time admit of comparision.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
4. *  Many Adverbs, from their nature, cannot be compared; as,
     Now, then, where, there, once.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
