 Transformation of Degree
Positive Degree থেকে Comparative Degree-তে পরিবর্তনের নিয়ম:
Rule-1: a) Sentence-এর প্রথমে ব্যবহূত no other এবং adjective-এর positive degree-র পূর্বে ও পরে ব্যবহূত as....as বা so....as উঠে যায়
b) Positive Degree-র ক্ষেত্রে ব্যবহূত শেষের nounটি Comparative Degree-র ক্ষেত্রে ব্যবহূত শেষের sentence-এর প্রথমে subject হিসেবে ব্যবহূত হয়;
c) Adjective-এর positive Degree-র Comparative form হয়;
d) Comparative form-এর পর than any other বসে।
e) সবশেষে no other-এর পর থেকে verb-এর পূর্বের অংশটি বসে;
Examples: Positive : No other river in Bangladesh is as big as the Padma.
Comparative : The Padma is bigger than any other river in Bangladesh.
Positive : No other man is the village is as wise as he.
Comparative : He is wiser than any other man in the village.
Positive : No other food is an nutritious as milk.
Comparative : Try Yourself.
Positive : No other dramatist is as great as Shakespeare.
Comparative : Try Yourself.
Rule-2: Very few যুক্ত Positive Degree-র Sentence-কে Comparative Degree-তে রূপান্তরের নিয়ম:
a) Positive Degree-র পূর্বে ওপরে ব্যবহুত as....as বা so...as এবং very few উঠে যায়;
b) শেষের nounটি sentence-এর শুরুতে বসে;
c) Positive Degree-টির Comparative form হয়;
d) then most other বসে;
e) Very few-এর পর থেকে verb-এর পূর্ববর্তী অংশটি than most other পরে বসে;
Examples: Positive : Very few boys in the class are as brilliant as he,
Comparative : He more brilliant than most other boys in the class.
Positive : Very few subjects are as easy as English.
Comparative : English is easier than most other subjects.
Positive : Very few pictures of the world are as great as if.

Positive: Very few animals are so cunning as the fox.

Positive Degree থেকে Comparative Degree-তে পরিবর্তনের নিয়ম:
Rule-3: Positive Degree-র Sentenceটি যদি as....as affirmative sentence হয়, তাহলে comparative Degree করার নিয়ম:
a) Sentence-এর শেষে subject-টি প্রথমে এবং প্রথম Subject-টি শেষে বসে;
b) Adjective-এর পূর্বে ও পরে ব্যবহূত as...as উঠে যায়;
c) Adjective-টির Comparative form হয়;
d) তারপর than বসে;
e) ‘not’ ব্যবহার করে Sentenceটি negative করতে হয়।
Example: Positive : The Sher-e-Bangla was as brave as a tiger.
Comparative : A tiger was not braver than the Sher-e-Bangla.
Positive : Rabiya is as tall as Rahima.
Comparative : Rahima is not taller than Rabiya.
Positive : This sum is as hard as that.
Comparative : Try Yourself.
Positive : You are as wise as I.
Comparative : Try Yourself.
 Superlative Degree থেকে Comparative Degree-তে পরিবর্তনের নিয়ম:
Rule-1: a) Subject ও verb অপরিবর্তিত থাকে;
b) Adjective-এর Superlative form-এর পরিবর্তে Comparative form বসে এবং পূর্বে ব্যবহূত the ওঠে যায়;
c) `then any other’ বসে;
d) পরবর্তী অংশ অপরিবর্তিত থাকে।
Exanples: Superlative : Walking is the best exercise.
Comparative : Walking is better than any other exercise.
Superlative : Alexander was the greatest conqueror of the world.
Comparative : Alexander was greater than any other conqueror of the world.
Superlative : Dhaka is the biggest city in Bangladesh.

Superlative : Mr. Jamal is the oldest man in our village.

Superlative Degree থেকে Comparative Degree-তে পরিবর্তনের নিয়ম:
Rule-2: ‘Of all’ যুক্ত Superlative Degree-এর ক্ষেত্রে `than all other’ এবং `one of the’ যুক্ত Superlative Degree-এর ক্ষেত্রে `than most other’ ব্যবহূত হয়।
Examples:
Superlative : Akbar was the greatest of all kings in India.
Comparative : Akbar was greater than all other kings in India.
Superlative : Karim is one of the tallest boys in the class.
Comparative : Karim is taller than most other boys in the class.
 Superlative Degree থেকে Positive Degree-তে পরিবর্তনের নিয়ম:
Rule-1: a) Sentence-এর প্রথমে no other বসে;
b) Adjective-এর Superlative form-এর পরবর্তী অংশ বসে;
c) Adjective-এর Superlative form-টির Positive Form হয় এবং তার পূর্বে ও পরে as...as অথবা so...as বসে।
d) সবশেষে Subject বসে;
Examples:
Superlative : The mutton chop was the cheapest dish on the menu.
Positive : No other dish on the menu was as cheap as the mutton chop.
Superlative : Shirin is the most beautiful girl in the village of Daokandi
Positive : No other girl in the village of Daokandi is as beautiful as Shirin.
Rul-2: One of the যুক্ত Superlative Degree-কে positive করার সময় one of the-এর পরিবর্তে very few বসে এবং verb-এর plural form হয়। এ ছাড়া very few-এর পরবর্তী Noun-Pronoun-এর plural number হয়। এমন ক্ষেত্রে Adjective-এর Positive form ব্যবহার করতে হবে।
Examples: Superlative : Nazrul is one of the greatest poets of Bangladesh.
Positive : Very few poets of Bangladesh are as great as Nazrul.
Superlative : Bangladesh is one of the most fertile Countries in the world.
Positive : Very few Countries in the world are as fertile as Bangladesh.
