Rules 4: Lest এরপর সব সময় sub+ should ব্যবহার করা হয়। যেমন: i. write fast lest you should fail in the exam. ii. Go fast lest you should fail to cash your cheque.
iii. The guard watched carefully lest the thief should enter the house.

Rule 5: If/ Had condition বোঝায়। উক্ত word যুক্ত clause -এ simple present থাকলে অপর clause-এ will ব্যবহূত হবে। যেমন:
i. If we go there, he will be happy.
ii. If you propose the clue, I will accept it.
iii) If it rains I won’t go.
For practice :
i) If you do not work hard—.
ii) If you inform me earlier—.
iii) If you neglect your study—.
iv) If you are hungry—.
Rule 6 : If/Had যুক্ত clause simple past tense হলে এর অপর clause-এ would/might/could বসে। যেমন: i) If they wanted I would help them. ii) If you repeated this nuisance, I would punish you. iii) If I had a car, I would go there.

Rule-7 : If/Had যুক্ত clause past perfect tense-এ হলে অপর clause-এ would have/could have/might have বসবে। যেমন: i) Had I possessed a vast property, I would have established a college.
ii) I would have told you if I had known him.
iii) If I had started earlier, I could have attended the meeting in time.

Rule 8 : No sooner had... than/Hardly had... when/scarcely had... when-এর প্রথম অংশ past perfect tense হবে এবং পরের অংশ past indefinite tense হবে। যেমন:
i) Hardly had I reached the college, when the examination began. ii) Scarcely had we reached the stadium when it rained. iii) No sooner had the teacher entered the classroom than the bell rang.
For practice :
i) No sooner had the doctor gone.
ii) Scarcely had I shot the bird
iii) —when the pet came near dog.
iv) Hardly had I reached the college—.
Rule-9 : Till- পর্যন্ত, Until- না পর্যন্ত, Until শব্দটি negative অর্থ প্রকাশ করে। তাই until দ্বারা যে clause শুরু হয়, সে clause-এ no বা not বসে না। যেমন: i) Read till I do not come back. ii) They will not go out until the rain stops. iii) Riti was anxious till his mother gave his consent.
For practice :
i) He will be waiting for me until—.
ii) Allah is with us till—.
iii) —until you know it.
iv) She made no joke till—.
Rule 10 : As/since সাধারণত কারণ হিসেবে ব্যবহার করা হয়। AS/Since যুক্ত বাক্যে উভয় পাশে একই Tense হবে। যেমন: i) Since there was no wind to fill the sails, the ship rested unmoving. ii) We should not live in luxury since our country is poor.
iii) Since the water was very salty, they could not drink it.
