Exclusive note on Voice 2


Active Voice
 
Passive Voice

(note: this example sounds a little strange.)

(Can't use "learn" for a machine--not usually.)

Remember: The verb "be" indicates the verb tense. In this lesson, the verbs are in the present tense. In the next lesson, the verbs will be in the past tense.


The Past Passive
Subject + (be = was or were) + past participle

 * Notice that the verb "be" indicates that this is in the past tense.
 
Past Tense, Passive Voice

(the past participle for "pay" is "paid")

(both sentences are in the past tense)
