The ‡host
The ghost is the spirit of a dead person that a living person believes, they can see or hear. It is nothing but an imaginary creature. It is an illusion of a frightened person. It has no stable physical shape. It is only an imaginary shape of oneÕs inward eyes. It is nothing but deceptive appearance. It is seen that some people believe in ghost They believe the dead bodies of the human beings perish but their souls exist in the world. They are immortal. The souls of the good persons live in peace but those of the bad persons try to do harm to the people becoming ghosts. They can assume any kind of figures when they wish. They roam here and there especially in the darkness and frighten a lonely person. Some people also believe that the ghost is one of the supernatural beings. In our text ÔThe ‡hostÕ is a oneact play. Here Keramat
who is actually a poor village labourer has acted in the character of a ghost He covered his body and head with a piece of white cloth. A bamboo frame had been fixed inside the cloth to make him tall and strange. He especially frightened a lonely passerby who had a
bag or basket full of rice, fruits and fishes. Sana, Tareq, Malek took the mater in their hands. One night they confronted the ghost and caught it It was none else than Keramat
