The Rainy Season in Bangladesh

There are six season in Bangladesh. I like all the season but I like rainy season most. The rainy season is the second season of them. The Bengali months –“Ashar” and “Shraban” are called the rainy season. Rainy season is my favorite season .

The Rainy season comes to us with many pleasant things and beautiful scene and sounds. So I like this season for many reasons.

It is a blessing for our country. The whole Bangladesh floats in joy at the advent of this season.

The rainy season is caused by monsoon. The south west monsoon that blows from the Bay of Bengal over Bangladesh brings much vapour. It causes heavy rainfall. As a result, the rainy season begins in Bangladesh.

People welcome the rainy season heartily. The season brings heavy rainfall. The sky becomes cloudy. Sometimes we do not see the sun for days together. Sometimes it rains cats and dogs.

Rivers, canals and ponds are filled with water. They overflow their banks. Fields go under water.

The season cools and refreshes all. It also purifies the atmosphere. A journey by boat is very interesting in this season. The roads become muddy and slippery. The rain washes our dirt. It makes our country ever green. It is also a season of fruits. Mango, black-berry, jack fruit lichies have buds on them.

Bangladesh is an agricultural country.Most of the crops depends on the rain water. Current of rain water makes our soil fertile. Men can easily go from one place to another by boat.

In the rainy season the roads become muddy and slippery. The poor and the day labourer suffer much. They cannot go out of doors for work.

Cattle have to suffer much. Various diseases like cholera, typhoid, and dysentery break out. Sometimes there are floods and it washes away our crops and houses.

The rainy season is very useful to us. Bangladesh is mainly an agricultural country. Our agriculture depends on this season. Green leaves grow in trees. The cultivation of our country makes the paddy fields ready. Jute plants grow rapidly.

Our imagination becomes active by the rhythm and music of rain. Poets charmed by the beauty of the season have composed many poems.

It is a blessing to the economy of our country and the prosperity of our people. It helps the nature to gain a new life. The rainy season is the most important and useful season in our country.  It is the best of all the season in Bangladesh. We always welcome this season and enjoy its beauty.
